Sandwiches and some Sports. Season 3, Episode 5: 2/4/26

What Caught My Eye is absolutely all over the map in the best way possible this episode. The boys start down under at the Australian Open, where Carlos Alcaraz officially reminded everyone he’s The Guy™, making history and basically ending the “who’s next in men’s tennis?” debate before it even started. On the women’s side, Rybakina pulls off a comeback that had big “built different” energy. They also get into how sports betting has fully invaded tennis, for better or worse, and what that means moving forward.

Then we jump to golf season being back, which means degenerates are awake at 7am again, with the Waste Management Open looming—aka the one tournament where getting kicked out is a badge of honor.

From there it’s pure chaos in the NHL Stadium Series, featuring cold weather, big hits, and a GOALIE FIGHT because hockey will always be the most unhinged sport and we love it for that.

College hoops check-in: Kansas doing Kansas things, UCF making noise, and everyone pretending they know how March is gonna shake out (they don’t).

And just when you think it’s a normal sports pod—BOOM: sandwich draft. Fried chicken sandwiches, Italian subs, breakfast sammies, elite bread takes, ingredient snobbery, and strong opinions that would absolutely ruin friendships.

It’s part food podcast, part sports show, part argument you’d overhear at a bar at 1:17am. End result: sports, sandwiches, chaos, and vibes.

A must-listen if you like your analysis loose, your takes spicy, and your podcasts feeling like a group chat with microphones. 🥪🏒🎾
